Years of Experience
We appreciate the opportunity to provide psychological services to you and/or your family. Bair, Peacock, McDonald, McMullan, & Bell, P.C. (BPMMB) have provided psychological services to clients in the metropolitan Birmingham area for over 30 years. Dr. Steven Bair partnered to establish the first group of independent psychologists in Birmingham in 1983.
Our psychologists are licensed in the state of Alabama and have been trained in doctoral programs that are accredited by the American Psychological Association. Our practice employs the scientist-practitioner model, emphasizing the role of research in treatment. We are committed to integrating new research findings into our treatment in order to provide the highest quality of evidence-based care. Our practice offers therapy and assessment across the developmental life-span. BPMMB includes five psychologists with a broad range of competencies to address most psychological disorders and issues.
We are committed to maintaining a small group model in order to best establish meaningful therapeutic relationships. Details on the services provided by each psychologist are available by clicking on their picture.
When working with clients, the psychologists at BPMMB use a variety of treatment techniques and theories. Whenever necessary, we collaborate with pediatricians, primary care physicians, and psychiatrists to evaluate the need for medication to supplement our therapy. Psychologists do not currently have prescription privileges in Alabama. They discuss research literature regarding psychotropic medication and may consult with other healthcare providers upon request but do not make direct medication recommendations.
